The Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition’s annual Lift Every Voice Prize was created to celebrate historically underrepresented voices in the chamber music world. The 2023 Fischoff Lift Every Voice Prize was awarded to one Senior Division Strings ensemble and one Senior Division Winds ensemble for the best performance of a work by a historically underrepresented composer within the chamber music world. This year’s prize focused on performances of works by Black, Hispanic, Latino or women composers. The winning ensembles present in concert on May 11 at 7 pm at the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University South Bend, as a kick-off to the competition. Each ensemble receives a $1,500 award.
