The Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition seeks an Executive Director to direct its overall operations. The Executive Director reports to the Fischoff Board, working particularly with its President and the Executive Committee as well as with the Artistic Director. The Executive Director manages the small permanent staff and the many volunteers needed for the Competition itself. The Board seeks a leader with strategic vision and creativity, to build on its reputation and success. The Executive Director is ultimately responsible for all non-artistic aspects of the organization, including fundraising, strategic planning, fiscal operations, marketing/communications, the competition, educational outreach, and Board support.

We are looking for someone with a commitment to the Fischoff values supporting our mission of excellence, educating the next generation of musicians, and instilling a love of chamber music.

Founded in 1973 and based in South Bend, Indiana, the Fischoff Competition is the largest chamber music competition in the nation, and the country’s longest consecutively running competition. Each year, an average of 125 ensembles, representing more than 23 nationalities, enter the competition. Since its founding, more than 7,800 musicians have participated, many of whom have gone on to distinguished careers in music performance and education.

Equally committed to music education, the Fischoff uniquely partners with competition alumni to bring free, innovative music programs directly to children in their own schools and community centers. Known as the Fischoff Arts-in-Education Residency, these programs have served 93,500 community children since 1995 including many underserved and at-risk children and youth.
