Chamber Music Summer Intensive
Fischoff’s Summer Chamber Music Intensive, in collaboration with the University of Notre Dame, supports young musicians as they dive deeply into the world of chamber music. Students will work intimately in small ensembles to strengthen both performance and life skills such as collaboration, communication, leadership, respect, and creative problem-solving through chamber music.
The program is open to students entering grade 6 and above who are intermediate to advanced players of strings, brass, winds, and piano. Enrollment is limited, ensuring that each participant receives a personalized experience in a collegial atmosphere. Students will be grouped into trios, quartets, and quintets based upon their proficiency. They will work closely with Fischoff’s quartet-in-residence and professional musicians in a variety of settings, including chamber music coaching sessions, masterclasses, workshops, solo and ensemble performances, and community engagement opportunities. Students receive free admission to all faculty concerts, and the program finale will be a capstone performance of all participating ensembles in the LaBar Recital Hall at the University of Notre Dame’s O’Neill Hall of Music.

2026 Faculty and Teaching Artists
Telegraph Quartet, Quartet Faculty-in-Residence
Now celebrating its 11th season together, the Telegraph Quartet (Eric Chin and Joseph Maile, violins; Pei-Ling Lin, viola; Jeremiah Shaw, cello) formed in 2013 with an equal passion for the standard chamber music repertoire and contemporary, non-standard works alike. Described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “…an incredibly valuable addition to the cultural landscape” and “powerfully adept… with a combination of brilliance and subtlety,” the Telegraph Quartet was awarded the prestigious 2016 Walter W. Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the Grand Prize at the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. The Quartet has performed in concert halls, music festivals, and academic institutions across the United States and abroad, including New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, San Francisco’s Herbst Theatre, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Chamber Masters Series, and at festivals including the Chautauqua Institute, Interlochen Arts Festival, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, and the Emilia Romagna Festival. The Quartet is currently the Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Michigan.
